Knight Lite
While not an actual knight (at least not yet), Knight Lite's dream is to travel the lands doing good and conquering evil (and dragons). About to venture on his quest to see the King and finally be knighted, he has an encounter with a mysterious cloaked figure in search of an elusive witch - who he discovers is actually rumored to be living in a nearby village. Curious, Knight Lite sidesteps his quest to look for the witch himself, leading him to a majestic, faraway town where he meets the most beautiful and mysterious woman he's ever seen...and learns of an even more mysterious legend.
Avle
(pronounced: ah-vla)Avle is a beautiful sorceress with a secret. By day, she is seen around town; by night, she disappears. While many of the townspeople have their own theories about her, when Knight Lite happens upon her town, he is determined to get to know her. But Avle is very evasive, not only about her whereabouts...but of Knight Lite himself.
Aron
(pronounced: ah-rin)Son to a shepherd, Aron has constant trouble filling his father's shoes now that he's grown and left in charge of the "family business". Mostly because he kind of sucks at shepherding. With his loyal herd dog, Shy (short for Shylock) for company, he does the best he can while trying at all costs to avoid his creepily seductive neighbor, Ericha - who he's convinced is trying to sleep with him and the whole village is convinced is a witch. But Aron's life takes a complete 180 when mysterious and handsome stranger, Nolan wanders into town and throws him for a romantic loop. But what Aron thinks is love is in actuality a horrible trick played on him by Ericha, and when he finds out, he sets off on a journey to uncover the truth.
Nolan
(pronounced: no-lin)A mysterious stranger who travels through Aron's village, and Aron takes an instant disliking to his arrogant and narcissistic attitude - but at the same time, can't help but be drawn to his handsome appearance and charismatic nature. As they both keep having seemingly chance encounters, Nolan can't help but also be curious about Aron, who seems to be captivated by him and yet aggravated by him at the same time. But "Nolan" isn't really who he seems, and when Aron finally meets the real Nolan, Nolan is confused...and Aron's horrified to find that this "real Nolan" doesn't remember him at all.
Ericha
(pronounced: like "Erika" or "Erica" - think "Echo")Rumored to be the witch of the village, Ericha is Aron's neighbor and makes no bones about being interested in him - but Aron will have none of it and is always thinking up new ways to avoid her...and her gigantic dog, Bear. When mysterious and handsome stranger, Nolan comes to town, Ericha is clearly up to something and reveals exactly what once she's able to lure Aron into the woods....
Eeli
(pronounced: like "Eli")Shapeshifting eel-turned human boy, Eeli is as odd as they come. When he washes ashore of an island, a young girl named Marina finds him and reluctantly takes him home, where her crazy uncle, Merlin takes an immediate interest in the boy. But what's even odder than Eeli is the fact that he can't remember a single thing about where he comes from, although Merlin just may be able to shed some light on that very subject.
Marina
A young girl who lives on a distant island with her seemingly crazy uncle, Merlin. Marina's life takes a turn for the adventurous when she happens upon a boy washed on shore claiming to be an eel. Skeptical yet curious at the same time, Marina agrees to let this boy named Eeli (how original, she knows) stay at her house for the night. But much to Marina's annoyance, Uncle Merlin actually shows more interest in the boy than she does!
Merlin
Marina's "crazy" uncle who spends long hours holed up in their island hut, conducting random and nutty "experiments" and studying wacky theories. According to Marina, Uncle Merlin is nutty - believing in magical things like fairies and dragons and witches - but when a shapeshifter boy named Eeli washes ashore of their island home, Merlin may prove to be more sane than realizes.
Eniv
(pronounced: ee-niv)With a name that spells "vine" backwards, Eniv is a magical talking vine snake Marina and Eeli befriend on their journey to learn more about Eeli's home, Static Island. Eniv agrees to show them the way, if they will let him travel with them and "see the world". While very charming, he can also be very annoying - and manages to annoy Marina with his constant know-it-all chatter any chance he gets.
